IT'S OFFICIAL - SALAMANCA MARKET!

28 Jul 2025

The Offbeat Tassie Artist is one of the newest stallholders at the Salamanca Market and my work is rich and contemporary, and has that ‘special something’ that is just so heartwarming…

‘My art is a love letter to Tasmania, this unique island, my work is an ongoing exploration and celebration of its raw beauty, its vibrant spirit, and the interconnectedness of its people and places.’

‘Beyond the studio, I strive to make a tangible difference in the lives of Tasmanians. I regularly donate my artwork to charities and medical treatment centres, hoping that the vibrant colours it offers can bring comfort and solace to those in need.’

And although her work has so much heart, it’s also not without humour…

‘I just finished a painting of the ‘Girl With A Pearl Earring’ as my Golden Retriever Molly.’

Native tassie animals also feature strongly in my work.

‘I am currently working on a Tasmanian Devil, with a Van Gogh Starry Night Sky and a bush fire. It's to create awareness of bushfire danger to native Tasmanian animals. The Devil is roaring at the sky, not out of aggression but because he feels his life is threatened by the fire. It's an interesting painting because it tells a full story within the imagine.’

‘My art is an invitation to see this incredible island with fresh eyes, to appreciate its intricacies, and to understand the deep connection I feel to this place I call home. It is a testament to the enduring power of art to inspire, connect, and contribute to the well-being of our community.

You can find me, at site 30, which is at the Davey Street end of the market, beside the Law Courts. I will be there every week for this month but will then alternate weeks, with another of our Salamanca artists, PJ Paintings.
