Every foodie in Hobart, will tell you to try Bar Wa Izakaya in North Hobart, who recently opened a sister restaurant Lost In Asia. Book in advance if possible!

We loved the tour at Tunnel Hill Mushrooms - a commercial mushroom farm in an abandoned railway tunnel from the 1800's. Dean is incredibly passionate about supporting the Tasmanian Mushroom Festival

Fresh Oysters from Barilla Bay Oysters Farm with fresh seafood.

Welcome Swallow Brewery is fantastic for craft beer, local ciders, and wines. It's in a beautiful location - imagine an indoor hanging garden with antique furniture and its own food truck.

Hobart Brewing Co. Amazing craft beer range and beer garden. Loaded Dog Cafe is located at the site. I love their Haloumi Burgers and Buffalo Cheese sauce chips.

Daci & Daci Bakers has the best almond croissant in Hobart and French bakery with incredible sweet and savoury food.

Little Missy Patisserie is an absolute must for delicious baked savoury or sweet goods. They have a take away section and dine in menu.

The Pancake And Crepe Shop - Oatlands is a fantastic stop off between Hobart and Launceston. The meat pies are so full and heavy. The staff are lovely and helpful.

Salamanca Market on a Saturday. I'm spoilt for fresh good, strong coffee and hot fresh donuts! The scallops on a stick are super popular.

Farm Gate Market on a Sunday is incredible.

Both are fantastic for foodies.

@Crezg in Richmond for their Russian Honey Cake, Scones and tea. Cute antique cottage on the main road opposite the IGA.

Richmond Chocolate Shop for their unique range of ice cream flavours, sweets, locally made fudge and Artisan coffee!

The Huon has an amazing Cider trail: Willie Smith's Apple Shed Pagan Cider and Frank's Cider House and Cafe - take the whole day for this tour and go slowly, there is lots to see and do.

Frogmore Creek Wines - we go back every August for our wedding anniversary. The wine is fantastic, and the food is a unique experience.

Best grilled cheese sandwich with a fried egg on top next to Dick & Dora on the Prince Wharf. Ask Mel from Dick and Dora and she will point you at the Cafe.

On our to-do list for this August 2025:

Silvia

Peppina Hobart

Ross Bakery Inn - best vanilla slice.

Willing Wine Bar

Cambridge House B&B

We meet a lot of foodies at Salamanca Market on Saturday and I try to give them all of these gems to try!
